Two Ways To Look at Writing Fun.
There is a strong case of writer fun-itis, which is defined as a case not not looking at what they love as being fun.
The reverse is of course true when everything that a writer does is fun, but then they have too much fun and nothing worthwhile gets completed. This is the problem with emails, and social media such as Facebook, you can get caught up in the fun, and not write. It’s fun to connect with people, and not
Like all writing there is a fine art to “writing fun.” yes, while writing is enjoyable and people who love to write have passion for their work, writing is also challenging, there are parts no one wants to do. For the most part many writers I talk to find that often while we think of being passionate about our writing or wanting to find ways to improve our writing we often do not see writing as “fun.” It’s a balance of being creative and then also being focused on what needs to be done.
So, I began to think, what are ways to look at writing fun? How can we as writers think of writing as fun?:
1) Write about life.
You want to write about the brighter side of things, write about everyday life, the times where your children do the funniest or most strangest things and you wonder where the comments came from. The scares you have which really were not scary but plain out funny after the fact. (Scary for some reason is funnier after the fact… take for example the “big huge” spider which you killed… with a baseball bat because you are terrified of spiders!)
You can make up this story to get your writing process going again. You can also use it as a means to break away from a tough bit of writing or researching for a book. It doesn’t have to be completely funny, but rather in a way that makes you think of something else.
2) Write about anything.. in a different way:
Sometimes, I will write in the second person in and effort to gain perspective in my own writing. The results are usually very funny, if I read them aloud. In fact, that is one way to find the humor in things, as when we edit or re-write is to do so in different colour pens, the very art of looking at handwriting whose colour changes every paragraph is a bit humorous.
Now with fun, it does mean to go back to work afterwards. So set a time limit as to how long you want to do this for. It shouldn’t be answering emails or being on another social media site, but rather this is taking a piece of writing you already have an building from it. Our minds are not designed for multi-tasking, and because of this, they need a break.
Writing fun can be achieved, in terms of doing something small to lighten your day. These are also great for just the days when you do not really want to write, but in a way we writers do not always need to take ourselves seriously. We can write and be passionate and have a bit of writing fun in the end.
At this point I am not suggesting you go out and do this every day, but if you are finding yourself facing writer’s block, and don’t want to stop writing, change it up and make it better. Writing is not always fun, but if it causes you to have challenges with what you are writing, you will need to take a moment to find something that is fun to do if only for a few minutes.

I would give up writing in a flash if it wasn't fun.
Hard work maybe, but still fun!
