What’s the Worst Thing To Say When You Hear “Publishing Sucks?”
December 16, 2009
When someone says to you that they think that publishing Sucks, what a natural reaction?
Normally some will say it’s a great community and there are a lot of writers still working on their work and not quite published yet.
Ouch, I wouldn’t feel so great.
I think that when people say this they are in fact feeling “F.I.N.E” meaning really that they are down and out and angry really angry. Telling people that they aren’t alone is one thing, but telling them it’s a great community is another.
I’d go for the personal story.
Now why Am I saying this? Simple, because this is how people- writers- are, they need to feel it personally.
So how do you make people feel that your writing is personal, even when “publishing sucks?”
