Why Should I Publish?

Why should I publish? This seems to be the question everyone asks right about the time when they begin writing.

The answers then pour forth, well for recognition, for money, for pleasure, for satisfaction, for joy.

Still, I always like to say these are reasons not really the why… and as you all know I am big on why.

Why should I publish?

Why I publish is something personal, something that is inside of me, something that I want to do each day. In other words why I publish is why I write, because it is a passion pushed to the end.

Publishing is the end of writing something to me. Once you’ve written and published there isn’t going back to the drawing board on that piece.

That is also why I think some people never publish– they can not go back to editing and rewrites.
