Writing Efforts
Day 12:
I am about to admit that I can rewrite things better. Much better. The first draft did not take so long, and thanks to my editor Rachel at outright communications, the second sounds much better.
I wonder what the next draft will be like? I should have everything complete in a few days, or at least chapters one, two and three.
Speaking of Chapters, if you go online to the store you can type in publishers and authors. I found that what helps get a good idea of how book are doing is by bestseller lists, so for fun I put in iUniverse, a self-publishing/vanity press, as a publishers, who promises much, but I wonder… There best sellers are non-fiction. that right Non-Fiction. But I’d say about 90% of their books are fiction.
Hm, better get this lovely work edited, and sent out to a traditional publisher.
I print out my pages and edit them line by line, and then send it off to Rachel who does the same. Here’s to better.
What I’m Reading:
I have to thank Leon on this one, the Singing Sword by Jack Whyte. It’s been a long time since I am loving something from a different Point of View than what I normally read. His writing is so well done that even the characters dialogue is good.
This actually gives me a better grounding on my own fiction.. and lo and behold my work sounds better.
