Writing: Money, Adventure or Compulsion?

Writing can be many things to many people and sometimes, we as writers can become fixated on one or two aspects, and this can make the adventure of writing for some far more interesting.  For some suggest that their writing needs to be improved and you might find that they will spend the next few months brooding over the fact that the writing that they have done is not as interesting as they might wish it to me.

Writing changes you, and sometimes the push or drive to get something done can become more than an adventure and becomes a compulsion to write, and then write and then make some more money and then write some more than build your work to the point where people might ask you the question why should we be coming back to this blog or your writing in general?

This is not a good sign, and that might mean that your adventure is focused on some point of the writing business a bit too much, and this too is not a good thing, when you need to write, and if you want to become a professional writer, (or are a professional writer!) then a compulsion can be… money.  Yes, there is a thing called not enough money, but then, there is also a thing called obsessing about money.

So where and how to challenge yourself?  Write, and love what you do and the money will come and so will your new found sense of adventure.
