For me:
Comfort, Achievement, Happiness, Joy.
When you read the word:
Marketing.
What does it mean to you?
For me:
Challenge, Creativity, and Fun
So why these words? What words would you think of?

My mind changes almost daily as to what each of these words mean to me!!!
The realities are far different than the dreams and hopes before being published.
There is a huge sense of pride in seeing my book in a store. It's also cool – when meeting new people – to mention the book. People are always interested and often seem (kind of) impressed.
As for marketing… well, it means hard work and it means a lot of online efforts. Most of the time it's kind of fun or interesting, but it is never really 'done'. A new opportunity may come out of nowhere or a new idea will come to you in your sleep. So I guess, to me, marketing is anything but finite.

excellent points Jill. Great to read of someone who is going down teh road of publishign and marketing, but is in the marketing part!
