Fixing Writers.. Fixing People.

What does creativity need? To begin with it need a soul of a person, and a good hand. What happens if this person became sick and could no longer write? I was thinking this, after one of my writing friends asked it. I think I have my answer: Stem Cells.

Okay stay with me. You’re probably wondering about this. Writers face so many challenges and some of them are mental and physical. Depression, for example, or heart troubles, or other sicknesses. What happens to this writer who needs help? Stem Cells can help. This site gives a basic idea of stem cells. It is a great site to read about what people are doing to help others and how a community is coming together.

I went farther with what the original site gave me. There is so much on this interesting subject. from what they are to what people can use them for. This topic was something that made me think. Can it help writers who could give the world so much more? Yes, and it is easier to get than some other methods.

Donation is easier than what is expected and it can last for years. There is some controversy to stem cell research, but in the long run, this might save many more lives.

Still the best website was about the people working with it, the Harvard website is pretty amazing and easy to navigate and gave me answers to my many questions. Perhaps one day it will help so many lives and allow for more people to be healthy for a long time.

My question for you today is the same I was asked: What if a writer becomes sick, can something in the medical community help them beyond drugs and medicine?

The foremost thing here that we need to keep in mind is that we a writer is a human first and then a writer, which is an occupation cum passion.

The body anatomy of a writer is no different from any other human being. It's a machinery that's bound to malfunction every once in a while. This malfunction is termed sickness in humans.

Now specifically to answer your question: Medical community can best help by getting a writer out of bed ASAP. While a writer is sick, the best he can do is read, not write. Writing needs a concentrated thought process, which is difficult to achieve while you are sick, even mildly. For e.g., if you have a runny nose, you will more be worried about your hanky than the pen. So better leave the pen for a while to concentrate on getting rid of the hanky and taking your medicine.

I agree with your thoughts on the pressures that could get us writers out of the job. There is one fear that I always have as a writer, and that is to lose my sense with words. It is a constant challenge for us writers to keep up with all the good ideas to write about. The biggest question on my mind now is for how long can I keep this up. Writing well that is.
